CALL FOR INTERNS IN PUBLIC INFORMATION/FUNDRAISING

TERMS OF REFERENCE


Under the overall guidance/supervision of the Public Information Officer, the aim of the post is to:

1. Contribute innovative proposals for private sector fundraising.

2. Assist in drafting and updating documents on UNHCR Cyprus, as well as on UNHCR projects for fundraising purposes.

3. Assist in the organization of fundraising initiatives.

4. Contribute innovative proposals to foster public awareness on refugee issues.
5. Assist in the constant improvement of PI and fundraising contacts list (proposing new entries, inserting new entries, deleting outdated contacts, reviewing existing information).

6. Research on specific refugee related topics and draft briefing notes for dissemination purposes.

7. Follow-up with the media on receipt of press releases and other information material.

8. Collect and arrange for dispatch of PI material both for public awareness and fundraising purposes.

9. Assist in the organization of special PI events (press conferences, press briefings, etc.).

10. Assist in the management of PI material stock (videos, posters, leaflets, magazines, etc.).

11. Provide translations of Press Releases, Briefing Notes, News Stories from the website and other documents, as necessary, from English into Greek.

12. Assist in the maintenance of the filing system of the PI Unit (filing of documents and updating of files).

13. Draft routine letters/faxes.

14. Any other PI /Fundraising task.
